This Privacy Policy explains how Vita Mahjong Master (“the Game”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you play on Android or iOS. The Game is a mahjong solitaire title with optional cloud save, leaderboards, and local reminders. It is designed so you can play without creating an account.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not ask for your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.
1. Who we are
Vita Mahjong Master is published as package
com.vitamahjong.game. For privacy questions, contact:
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the Game and keep your progress.
| Category | What | When |
|---|---|---|
| Guest account | A random Firebase Authentication identifier (UID). No name, email, or password is required. | Automatically when cloud features start, if the Game can reach Firebase. |
| Google account (optional) | If you tap “Continue with Google”: your Google user ID, display name, email address, and profile photo URL provided by Google Sign-In. | Only when you choose to sign in with Google. |
| Game profile | Leaderboard display name (default is a generated handle such as “Player 1234”, or a name you type, up to 18 characters), coins, XP, rank, campaign level, unlocked levels, stars, win/loss counts, tiles cleared, best combo, play time, daily streak, booster inventory, owned tables and tile sets, and per-level scores. | Saved on your device. Synced to our cloud if you are signed in as a guest or with Google. |
| Leaderboard scores | Your display name, score, time, combo, and stars for a daily challenge. | When you finish a daily challenge while cloud features are connected. |
| Analytics events | Screen names (home, game, shop, settings, and similar) and gameplay events such as a run starting, winning, losing, a purchase of in-game items with coins, or linking Google. These events do not include your email or message content. | When cloud features are connected. Processed by Google Firebase Analytics. |
| Device storage | The same progress and settings (sound, music, haptics, reduced motion, reminder preference, last activity time) stored locally with SharedPreferences. | Continuously, so the Game works offline. |
| Reminders | A last-activity timestamp and whether table reminders are on. Reminder text is scheduled on the device. We do not send push messages from a server. | If you allow notifications. You can turn reminders off in Settings. |
| Technical data (via Google) | Firebase may receive standard technical information such as app version, device type, OS version, language, country (coarse), and a Firebase installation ID, as described in Google’s own policies. | When the Game uses Firebase. |
3. How we use the information
- To save and restore your progress on this device and, if you sign in, on another device.
- To show daily and all-time leaderboards using your display name and scores.
- To keep a guest run and a later Google sign-in on the same progress where possible, by linking or merging the better of each value (for example the higher level or star count).
- To understand which screens and features are used, so we can fix bugs and improve the Game.
- To remind you locally after 1, 3, 7, and 14 quiet days, if you have allowed notifications.
In-game coins, hints, undos, and shuffles are virtual items. They are not real money and are not sold through a third-party ad or payment profile in the current version of the Game.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK / similar laws)
Where those laws apply, we rely on:
- Contract / requested service — guest or Google sign-in, cloud save, and leaderboards.
- Legitimate interests — aggregated analytics to keep the Game stable and useful, in a way that does not override your rights.
- Consent — notification permission on Android 13+ and iOS; Google Sign-In when you choose it.
You may withdraw consent by turning off reminders, denying notification permission, or signing out of Google in Settings.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with processors that run the Game:
- Google LLC (Firebase and Google Sign-In) — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Analytics, in the project used by Vita Mahjong Master. Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to those services: policies.google.com/privacy and firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- Other players — only the display name and scores that appear on public leaderboards. Your email is not shown on the board.
- Law or safety — if we are legally required to disclose information, or need to protect players or the Game from abuse.
Your data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under Google’s transfer mechanisms.
6. What we do not collect
- Payment card numbers or billing addresses (the Game does not take real-money checkout in this version).
- Advertising IDs for third-party ads — we do not include an ad network.
- Contacts, photos (except the Google profile photo URL if you sign in), files, SMS, or precise GPS.
- Health, biometric, or government ID data.
- Chat messages — the Game has no chat.
7. Local notifications
Table reminders are scheduled on your phone with the operating system (Android AlarmManager / iOS local notifications). They can appear when the Game is closed, the screen is locked, or the process is not running, according to your system notification settings. We do not use a server to push those reminders. After a reboot, the device may restore the same schedule. Opening the Game cancels pending reminders and sets a new 1 / 3 / 7 / 14 day campaign from that moment.
8. How long we keep data
- On the device — until you clear app data, uninstall the Game, or use Reset progress in Settings.
- Guest and Google cloud profiles — while the account exists and we operate the Game. If you sign out to guest, a new guest UID is created; the previous Google profile remains until you ask us to delete it.
- Leaderboard rows — kept so rankings remain meaningful; daily boards are organised by date.
- Analytics — according to the retention you configure in Firebase (Google’s default product retention unless we set a shorter period).
9. Your choices and rights
- Play offline-style: the Game still works if the cloud cannot connect; progress stays on the device.
- Change or keep a short leaderboard name in Settings.
- Sign in with Google, or return to a guest session (local progress is kept on that device).
- Turn off table reminders in Settings, or deny notification permission. The Game will not crash.
- Reset progress in Settings (this wipes local profile data).
- Uninstall the Game to remove local storage.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you may also request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or object to certain processing. Email s.saini0297@gmail.com from the address on your Google account if you used one, and allow us time to verify the request. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
To request deletion of a cloud profile, tell us your leaderboard name and, if possible, the approximate last play date. If you signed in with Google, write from that email so we can match the account.
10. Children
The Game is a casual puzzle suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the local digital-consent age) for the purpose of selling data or showing ads. Guest mode does not ask for a real name. If you believe a child has provided personal data through Google Sign-In, contact us and we will delete the cloud profile where we can identify it.
11. Security
Cloud data is stored in Google Firebase with rules so that a signed-in player can write only their own profile and daily score. Transport uses HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please use a Google account you control if you want progress tied to an email.
12. Permissions the Game may request
- Internet / network state — cloud save, leaderboards, analytics, and Google Sign-In.
- Notifications — optional table reminders.
- Boot completed / exact alarms / vibrate — so a scheduled local reminder can still fire after reboot or when the Game is not open, where the operating system allows it.
Some Android makers apply extra battery limits that can delay or drop local alarms. That is a device setting, not a transfer of your data to us.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it in a material way, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Game after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where the law requires a new consent.
